The US Census Bureau tells us nearly 5.5 million businesses opened last year. You mean is that... good news? Yes indeed. New beginnings…new beginnings. Whether you’re a scrappy twenty something finishing up a STEM undergrad or a gruff master craftsman pushing 60 in the suburbs of New Jersey, we all begin our journeys from somewhere with a clear…or at times vague vision of the foretold destination…or concept of one. For the folks in the latter, if your departure from the docks proves heavy fog, be glad to have in possession, at the very least, a functioning compass and a positive outlook for not having either will get you nowhere real fast, according to a few wise men.

This unforeseen journey of mine began in 2020 or perhaps 2018, depending on who you ask. Rewinding nearly seven years, the home I grew up in got outfitted with the most intergalactic sci-fi-esque sun squares available on the market. You would’ve thought NASA and George Lucas were responsible.

The glossy sapphire variety no less. Truthfully, I had no understanding of these things other than they created electricity and they made my father complain less about the electric bill. Naturally, giving the house not one but TWO quadratic basking caps, complete with exterior piping, instead of turning off the office lights was indeed..the best solution.

Long story short, those seven years have flown by and I’m convinced we have new sliced bread at the market. So get ready. The polestar polygons are catching wind. With all black sails.
